Both Deceased Students Revealed in the Ivy League School Shooting as Police Persist in Search for Killer.

Two students who were killed in the recent tragic incident on the university campus were honored at the start of the week – while an intensive search for their killer continued following the release by local law enforcement of the only individual of interest in the case.

Honoring a Lost Student

The young woman Ella Cook, a sophomore from Alabama, was remembered as “an amazing, stable, pious, radiant soul”, according to the Advent Cathedral in Birmingham, which paid tribute to her at a gathering on Sunday.

Her role included second-in-command of Brown’s division of the College Republicans organization, the group said. The White House press secretary also shared condolences online, saying in part: “Words cannot express. Keeping in mind her loved ones and companions, above all her mom and dad.”

The Second Victim

The second fatality was MukhammadAziz Umurzokov from Uzbekistan, a citizen of Uzbekistan in his freshman year at the renowned school, his family confirmed.

His name was confirmed by Uzbekistan’s foreign ministry.

“He was exceptionally gentle, witty, and bright. He had big dreams of pursuing a career in neurosurgery and assisting patients,” his sibling Samira said in a online post.

The Shooting Incident

Nine more persons were wounded in Saturday’s attack in the school of engineering of Brown’s grounds in Providence, during the institution's end-of-term tests.

Authorities said by the end of Sunday that a man aged 24 detained in a search at a hotel about approximately 17 miles from the university earlier in the day was released from custody.

“There is a killer at large,” said the state's top prosecutor, Peter Neronha.

He continued, “Sometimes you head in one direction, and then you need to change course and pursue a different angle, and that’s exactly what has happened over the last 24 hours or so.”

Ongoing Concerns

The city's mayor, Brett Smiley, noted: “We know that this is likely to cause new worry for our public”.

The shooter began shooting inside a classroom in the engineering building on Saturday afternoon, firing more than 40 rounds from a handgun, a authority informed the Associated Press.

Officers that searched the hotel seized two firearms and two ammunition clips when the individual was taken into custody, as was reported.

Those Hurt

Regarding the nine injured, a single scholar was released from the hospital, stated Brown’s president, Christina Paxson. An additional seven were in serious yet stable state, and another was critically ill, police said on Sunday.
