Former Physician Charged with Assault Allegations Involving 38 Individuals in His Care
Legal authorities report that a ex- doctor has been charged with committing assaults against thirty-eight victims who were under his care.
The Grave Allegations
The accused, Nathaniel Spencer from Birmingham faces allegations of numerous sexual offences – some of which involve some against minors under the age of thirteen – spanning the period from 2017 to 2021.
One senior prosecutor stated, “Our prosecutors have worked at length to support a thorough and intricate investigation, meticulously examining the evidence to determine that there is a strong case to proceed to trial and that it is in the public interest.”
Scope of the Investigation
These allegations follow what police called a “detailed inquiry” into reported sexual offences at two hospitals: a hospital in Stoke-on-Trent and Russells Hall hospital.
The defendant will appear at the local magistrates' court on January 20th.
List of Offences
The charging documents outline the forty-five sexual offences include:
- Fifteen counts of sexual assault.
- 17 counts of assault by penetration.
- Nine counts of sexual assault of a child under 13.
- 3 counts of assault of a child under 13 by penetration.
- One count of attempting to assault by penetration.
