Outrage as Renowned South African DJ Shot Dead in Johannesburg.
A prominent South African media personality and entertainer has been shot dead in the country's largest city Johannesburg, causing national outrage across a country battling persistent crime.
Warrick Stock, widely recognized as DJ Warras, was attacked in the downtown area on Tuesday afternoon.
Officials stated the forty-year-old entertainer was confronted by three individuals, with one opened fire on him before escaping on foot.
The motive of the incident is unknown and no arrests have taken place, according to authorities.
The Fatal Incident
Law enforcement indicated that Stock was ambushed as he was exiting a building in the vicinity of the Carlton Centre.
He had devoted time at the building overseeing the implementation of security systems, which had been illegally inhabited by squatters, according to reports.
"It is alleged the deceased was confronted by three unidentified men after he parked his car, and they shot at him before fleeing the scene on foot," an official report confirmed.
Security camera video showed a man with dreadlocked hair and wearing what looked like a security uniform firing shots on Stock before making his escape.
The DJ tried to run away after he was wounded but succumbed to his injuries a short distance away.
Officials noted that Stock had an unused firearm and it was not a robbery during the assault.
Crucial forensic evidence, like cartridges, were discovered at the crime scene.

"We know they walked a long distance after the shooting, and investigators have been attempting to locate them to establish their whereabouts," remarked an authority figure.

"I am devastated. I cannot express the pain," she said.
